DeBora’s 20-year career in the Risk Management industry spans several markets including Insurance, Sports Entertainment, Hospitality, and Education. Her experience as a licensed Property & Casualty insurance agent for Marsh & McLennan and as Account Administrator for PGA TOUR’s Tournament Liability program laid the foundation for her background evaluating risk through identification, assessment, and formulating procedures for risk mitigation.
After joining the ranks of Marriott’s Corporate Risk Management headquarters, DeBora was immersed into IT and security by working as a Programmer Analyst providing 24/7 database production support and implementing security best practices, including managing user privileges, testing and validating releases, backups, emergency response, and running business continuity exercises.
Education has been a part of the many facets of DeBora’s career, as she most recently designed a technology program, built a social engineering curriculum, and taught Digital Citizenship classes at the Montessori School of Raleigh. This cyber safety course is the only one of its kind to be offered to private schools in the Triangle. DeBora also served as the Media & Technology resource for faculty, staff, and students.
DeBora earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Cybersecurity Management & Policy with a minor in Information Systems Management from the University of Maryland University College.
