Maria is a driven HR professional with over eight years of experience within healthcare systems, staffing companies, and government agencies. She is dedicated to delivering high-quality results, bringing top talent to CREO, and establishing empathetic, genuine relationships with clients and managers.


Before joining CREO in 2021 as the Talent Acquisition Lead, Maria was a TA Consultant for two years at Duke Health, a world-class academic and health care system in North Carolina that strives to transform medicine and health locally and globally. Maria led an environment of change and continuous improvement by implementing effective recruitment strategies and time management solutions and properly delegating various tasks to ensure customer and candidate satisfaction and retention. During the previous six years, she served in various HR roles. She also performed contract and corporate recruitment for organizations like HCA Healthcare, Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist, Aerotek, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and Vanderbilt Medical Center.


Maria previously did freelance photography and writing for Arts & Entertainment sites, various publications, and book publishers. Maria is passionate about helping others and has volunteered with several organizations. On her list are St. Jude, Girl Scouts of the USA, where she was a troop leader and program mentor, and the Guilford Urban Farming Initiative’s farmer’s market. The mission of the Guilford market is to grow local and urban agriculture/improve community health and wealth while reducing socioeconomic and health disparities.

Maria received her BA in Writing, Literature and Publishing from Emerson College (Boston, MA). Maria holds certification as a Recruiter Academy Certified Recruiter (RACR).
