Rett is a seasoned IT security and risk management leader with over 17 years of experience working in technical and business roles in software, fintech, and consulting services. He is passionate about helping clients transform their culture to improve security awareness, gain efficiencies, and maintain compliance. Rett promotes business-driven security and believes that good IT security practices can help companies be more competitive by enabling them to make better decisions quickly and confidently. Rett’s areas of expertise include regulatory compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, CCPA), security frameworks (NIST Cybersecurity, 800-53/171, ISO 27001/2, and CIS), risk management, and data protection / governance.

Prior to joining CREO, Rett was a senior manager in RSA Security Global Services (a division of DELL Technologies) for 10 years where he was instrumental in growing U.S. and Latin American professional services. Rett led teams of advisory solution principals with expertise in GRC, IAM, SIEM, data analytics, incident response, DLP, data encryption/tokenization, and security strategy. Prior to RSA, Rett worked for VISA International, where he spent four years living in the U.K. working on a European Commission-funded research project for eGovernment identity and authentication standards.

Rett earned his undergraduate degree in Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, graduate degree in business from Saint Mary’s College of California, and received a graduate certificate in Data Analytics from Cornell University. Rett holds the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification and is also certified in Hyperledger Blockchain Technologies.

Rett enjoys community service and is a volunteer pole vault coach at Green Hope High School.
